The 5-th ISFFR Conference ends its work
Sekeshfehervar, (Hungary), The 5-th regular Conference of the International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers ended its work here today. The representatives of fire fighters and rescuers sports organizations of 10 countries took part in the Conference which lasted for 3 days.
The Conference was greeted by the ISFFR President Russian emergency Minister Sergei Shoigu who sent them the special message stressing the importance of the further development of the sport of fire fighters and rescuers and of the exchange of views in order to increase professionalism among the fire fighters and rescuers.
The participants adopted the report of the ISFFR executive director Andrei Kalinin about the organization’s activity in 2004 and the plans for 2005. The annual financial report was also discussed and approved. Amendments to the ISFFR Charter as well as to the International Rules of the competitions of the sport of fire fighters and rescuers were made. According to the Schedule of events for 2005 the athletes of the national organizations will take part in several competitions in the coming year. The most important of these events: the 2-d open European Championship among fire fighters and rescuers will be held September 6-11 in Ostrava (Czech Republic). The Conference also took a decision to hold the next regular meeting in December of 2005 in the city of Togliatti (Russia).
The participants were informed that the ISFFR started its own Internet web-page (www.interfiresport.com) which will be an important information medium to acquaint the visitors about the Federation’s important events and decisions.
The Conference was greeted by the deputy mayor of Sekeshfehervar in charge of human affaires Andras Szelier and by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affaires of Hungary Akos Szakszik who appreciated the role of the ISFFR in the development of sport of fire fighters and rescuers and extended their sincere wishes of new success and prosperity.
The ISFFR Executive Director Andrei Kalinin on behalf of the participants of the Conference thanked the President of Federation of professional fire fighters of Hungary Istavan Kun and his colleagues for the excellent organizational efforts that contributed a lot to the success of the event. He expressed his believe that the European Championship of 2007 if it takes place in Sekeshfehervar (Hungary) will be organized to meet the highest international standards. |
