International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers and the General directorate of the fire fighting and rescuing corps of the Czech Republic together with the fire fighting and rescuing corps of Moravia and Silesian region of the Czech Republic in Ostrava is herby announcing about the forthcoming II Open European Championship among fire fighters and rescuers to take place in Ostrava in September 6-11, 2005 /www.ostrava2005.cz/.  We are inviting all the organizations concerned to contact the International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers to apply for participation in the Championship.

The ISFFR Executive Committee is expecting the teams and delegations from more then 20 countries to come to the event, with 19 counties have already confirmed their participation.

This international tournament would allow the participants to exchange the experience and skills, provides a good opportunity to communicate and to develop further professional and cultural contacts between the countries as well as to serve the cause of strengthening friendship and mutual understanding.

One of the ISFFR prime objectives is to make sure that the sport of fire fighters and rescuers is included into the non-official schedule of 2008 Olympic Games.

In the framework of the European Championship the International Exhibition of fire fighting and rescuing equipment and devices “EUROFIRE 2005” is to be held. It would be the venue for the best equipment production companies’ representatives to come together to exchange views and experience.

At present the talks to grant the rights to cover the gala opening and closing ceremonies of the Championship with major international radio and TV broadcasters are on the way.

The International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers is hereby inviting all the official organizations  concerned to send the group of 2  to 3 observers from each country to witness the tournament  and/or to take part in the Exhibition.
