International Sports Federation of Fire fighters & Rescuers (ISFFR) was founded in 2001 by the initiative and with active involvement of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for civil defense, emergencies and elimination of consequences of natural disasters (EMERCOM of Russia). The Minister of the Russian Federation for civil defense, emergencies and elimination of consequences of natural disasters Sergei Kuzhugetovich Shoigu was unanimously elected the President of the ISFFR.
