SUMMARY OF THE XV WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AMONG BOYS AND JUNIORS AND THE XI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AMONG GIRLS AND JUNIORS IN FIRE AND RESCUE SPORT
On August 22, 2026, the first final races in the "Hook ladder climbing to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the training tower" discipline among boys and juniors, girls and juniors took place at the «Meteor» Stadium in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region, as part of the grand opening ceremony of the XV World Championship among boys and juniors and the XI World Championship among girls and juniors in fire and rescue sport.
The World Championships were attended by sports delegations from the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of India, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Cameroon, the Russian Federation, the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic.
The competition program consisted of four disciplines: hook ladder climbing to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the training tower, overcoming 100-meter obstacle course, fire relay race 4x100 meters and combat deployment. Young athletes competed for the title of the strongest on the running tracks over four days, demonstrating professionalism, courage and the will to win.
On the first competition day, athletes competed in hook ladder climbing to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the training tower. This is one of the most spectacular disciplines in fire and rescue sport.
The opening ceremony was a true celebration of friendship and sports among young firefighters and rescuers! The parade of sports delegations from Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, India, Kazakhstan, Cameroon, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and, of course, Russia became a vivid symbol of international sports brotherhood. Athletes and guests enjoyed Moscow Region artistic performances, dance shows and a festive fireworks display in the colors of the Russian tricolor.
Aleksandr Chupriian, President of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers; Vyacheslav Butko, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia; Andronik Pak, Head of the Zhukovsky City District; Vyacheslav Fetisov, an outstanding hockey player and public figure, and other distinguished guests greeted the athletes.
Immediately after the colorful opening ceremony, spectators enjoyed the first thrilling moments of the competition.
According to the results of the final races, the winner among girls in the younger age group was Vera Yakauleva (Republic of Belarus) (time: 7.54 sec.), with silver going to Ksenia Gladysheva (Russian Federation) (time: 7.79 sec.), and bronze won by Niya Kostova (Republic of Bulgaria) (time: 8.07 sec.).
In the intermediate age group among girls, first place won an athlete from the Russian Federation Bella Kachmar (time: 7.28 sec.), second place also went to an athlete from the Russian Federation, Valeria Bulygina (time: 7.48 sec.), and third place was taken by Aliaksandra Mazgova from the Republic of Belarus (time: 7.49 sec.).
In the older age group, among female juniors, the winner was athlete from the Republic of Belarus Ulyana Tsimafeyeva (time: 7.35 sec.), second place was taken by Ksenia Parfenova (Russian Federation) (time: 7.41 sec.), and third place went to Kseniya Husak (Republic of Belarus) (time: 7.43 sec.).
The winner among boys in the younger age group was an athlete from the Russian Federation Maxim Antonenko (time: 6.81 sec.), silver also went to an athlete from the Russian Federation Ivan Shutko (time: 6.98 sec.), and bronze went to an athlete from the Republic of Belarus Zakhar Masalau (time: 7.13 sec.).
In the intermediate age group among boys, all three medals went to athletes from the Russian Federation: first place was won by Arseniy Vilvert (time: 7.07 sec.), silver went to Artem Frolovsky (time: 7.36 sec.), and third place was taken by athlete Matvey Osipov (time: 7.41 sec.).
In the older age group, among male juniors, gold went to Ilya Krayukhin (Russian Federation) (time: 10.12 sec.), silver was won by Aidaan Khovalyg (Russian Federation) (time: 10.23 sec.), and bronze went to Valery Sakharchuk (Republic of Belarus) (time: 11.99 sec.).
The main sensation was a new world record in the discipline "Hook ladder climbing to the 3rd floor of the training tower" among male juniors – 10.12 sec., set by a member of the Russian national team, Ilya Krayukhin. The previous record was set in 2021 at the X World Championship among boys and juniors in fire and rescue sport in Čakovec (Republic of Croatia) by Anton Maslov (Russian Federation) with a time of 10.17 sec.
On August 23, the competitions continued on the running tracks of the "Meteor" Stadium.
The participants of the World Championships competed in overcoming 100-meter obstacle course.
Only the strongest male and female athletes with the best results in a tough competition became participants in the final race.
In the final races among girls, the places were distributed as follows: in the younger age group, the winner was athlete from the Republic of Belarus – Vera Yakauleva (time: 17.89 sec.), second place was taken by Niya Kostova (Republic of Bulgaria) (time: 18.89 sec.), and third place was won by Anna Kondrya (Russian Federation) (time: 34.72 sec.).
In the intermediate age group, first place was won by athlete from the Russian Federation Valeria Bulygina (time: 16.69 sec.), second place also went to athlete from the Russian Federation Margarita Nikiforova (time: 16.98 sec.), and third place was taken by athlete from the Republic of Belarus Aliaksandra Mazgova time: 17.92).
Among female juniors, the world champion in the overcoming 100-meter obstacle course was an athlete from the Russian Federation – Ksenia Parfenova (time: 16.05 sec.), second place went to an athlete from the Russian Federation Varvara Maksimova (time: 16.12 sec.), and third place also went to athlete from the Russian Federation Evgenia Schmidt (time: 16.4 sec.).
The races among girls ended with the triumph of the Russian athlete Ksenia Parfenova. Ksenia set a world record, covering the distance in 16.31 seconds. In the final, she improved her own result to 16.05 seconds.
Among boys in the younger age group, victory was claimed by an athlete from the Russian Federation Maxim Antonenko (time: 17.1 sec.), silver went to an athlete from the Russian Federation Andrei Bezrukov (time: 17.28 sec.), and bronze went to Ivan Shutko (Russian Federation) (time: 17.32 sec.).
In the intermediate age group, the world champion in overcoming 100-meter obstacle course was Artem Frolovsky (Russian Federation) (time: 16.11 sec.), second place was taken by Matvey Osipov (Russian Federation) (time: 16.27 sec.), and third place by Yaraslau Barysionak (Republic of Belarus) (time: 16.66 sec.).
The winner among male juniors was an athlete from the Russian Federation Ilya Krayukhin (time: 15.25 sec.), silver medalist was Aidaan Khovalyg (Russian Federation) (time: 15.94 sec.), and bronze was won by Danila Andronchyk (Republic of Belarus) (time: 20.88 sec.).
New world records were set in overcoming 100-meter obstacle course. A member of the Russian national team in the younger age group, Maxim Antonenko, set a new world record, covering the distance in 16.45 seconds. Another Russian athlete, Ilya Krayukhin, set a world record of 15.52 seconds in the older age group, and in the final improved his result to 15.25 seconds.
On August 24, the third day of the XV World Championship among boys and juniors and the XI World Championship among girls and juniors in fire and rescue sport, young athletes from the national teams of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Slovak Republic demonstrated incredible speed, agility and teamwork in fire relay race 4x100 meters.
By the end of the day, the national team of the Russian Federation among girls won gold (time: 60.57 sec.). Second place went to athletes from the Republic of Belarus (time: 61.31 sec.), and bronze was won by the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan (time: 63.72 sec.).
Among boys, first place went to the national team of the Republic of Belarus (time: 55.6 sec.), second place was won by the national team of the Russian Federation (time: 56.67 sec.), and third place went to the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan (time: 59.78 sec.).
On August 25, 2026, the final day of the XV World Championship among boys and juniors and the XI World Championship among girls and juniors in fire and rescue sport took place. The national teams competed in combat deployment. The athletes showed mastery and will to win.
Among girls, the places were distributed as follows: first was the national team of the Slovak Republic (time: 19.52 sec.), second place went to athletes from the national team of the Republic of Belarus (time: 21.2 sec.), and third place was taken by girls from the Republic of Kazakhstan (time: 21.46 sec.).
Based on the results of the competition day among boys, the first was the national team of the Republic of Belarus (time: 17.88 sec.), second place went to the national team of the Slovak Republic (time: 18.78 sec.), and third place was taken by the team of the Russian Federation (time: 19.49 sec.).
The national team of the Slovak Republic set a world record – 19.52 sec., and the national team of the Republic of Belarus set a world record, too – 17.88 sec.
Thus, two world records were set in combat deployment: female athletes from the Slovak Republic covered the distance in 19.52 sec., and boys from the Republic of Belarus – in 17.88 sec.
Following a tough competition, the prize places among boys and juniors were distributed as follows:
1st place – Republic of Belarus;
2nd place – Russian Federation;
3rd place – Republic of Kazakhstan.
Among girls and juniors:
1st place – Russian Federation;
2nd place –Republic of Belarus;
3rd place – Republic of Kazakhstan.
After the races, a solemn closing ceremony of the World Championships in fire and rescue sport was held.
The participants were congratulated on their outstanding results by Aleksandr Chupriian, President of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers; Sergey Samolevsky, Head of the Main Directorate of Civil Protection of the Moscow Region with the rank of Minister; Ramil Kamalov, Chief Judge of the The XV World Championship among boys and juniors and the XI World Championship among girls and juniors in fire and rescue sport – Vice-Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Major General; Andrei Kalinin, Director of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers; Andronik Pak, Head of the Zhukovsky City District; Alexey Pavlov, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Moscow Region, Major General of the Internal Service, and other distinguished guests.
Athletes and coaches were awarded well-deserved medals, cups and gifts. The International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers established special prizes – World Cups, which were awarded to the champions.
The «Friendship» Cup was presented by Andrei Kalinin, Director of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, to the national team of the Slovak Republic that showed worthy sports results!
Aleksandr Chupriian, President of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, thanked the athletes and organizers of the competition. In the best sports traditions, Alexey Pavlov, Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Moscow Region, handed over the flag of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers to the future hosts of the 2027 World Championships, Ramil Kamalov, Vice-Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and wished them success in organizing future competitions.

For the first time in the history of the World Championships in fire and rescue sport, eight world records were set, two of which athletes improved directly in the final.
