On 15 March 2024 at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Russian Federation with the support of the International Association of Experts in Public Diplomacy (IAEPD) held a working meeting of the Director of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers Andrey Kalinin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation Ahmed Abdulrahman Mahmoud Ismail AL-SAATI and President of the IAEPD Arthur Khachatryan.

During the talks they touched upon the issues of cooperation in the field of fire and rescue sports and accession of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR), which today unites 34 countries of the world. This wide geographical spread shows that fire and rescue sport is growing rapidly.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain informed about Bahrain's interest in co-operation with the International Sports Federation of Fire and Rescue Fighters and Rescuers, as the events held by ISFFR represent a unique platform for the exchange of best practices in combating emergency situations and familiarisation with the latest firefighting and rescue equipment. Also emphasised that the accession of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a member of ISFFR will provide an opportunity to hold the World Championship among firefighters and rescuers in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the future.
